How Meadowsweet Heating and Air Came to San Antonio

Luis Serrano remembers the call that changed his thinking. A homeowner in Converse had paid another company for a full air handler replacement, only to have the new unit fail six weeks later. When Luis pulled the panel off, he found a mix of mismatched parts, loose wiring, and a condensation line run uphill. The work had never been done right, but the homeowner had already paid for it. That afternoon, sitting in his truck outside the house, Luis made a decision. This city deserved better than rushed work and vague promises.

That conviction is what brought Meadowsweet Heating & Air to San Antonio. The brand existed before this branch opened, built on a simple idea the Cedarwell family put at the center of everything: comfort in every room, without the mess. When the opportunity came to open a San Antonio location, Luis knew this was the market that needed that promise most. Our summers are brutal, our humidity is relentless, and families here can’t afford to gamble on shoddy workmanship. So we opened our doors with one goal: bring the Cedarwell Care Promise to every home we serve, from Alamo Heights to Live Oak.

Luis Serrano’s Personal Connection to the HVAC Trade

Luis got into this trade the way a lot of people do: by taking something apart to see why it failed. He was young, working odd jobs, when a window unit in a rental stopped cooling. Money was tight, so he pulled the cover off himself. He found a dead capacitor, a corroded contactor, and a coil so clogged with dust it looked like gray felt. He cleaned it, replaced what he could afford, and plugged it back in. The air that came out was cold. It wasn’t a miracle, but it felt like one.

That feeling never left him. HVAC work is physical, dirty, and often uncomfortable. You work in attics that feel like ovens, crawl spaces you have to wedge yourself into, and rooftops where the sun bakes the back of your neck. But when the system kicks on and the house starts to cool, the discomfort fades. Luis has spent more than a decade in this trade, and he still gets that same quiet satisfaction every time a homeowner feels the temperature change. He’ll tell you that what gets him out of bed isn’t the equipment. It’s the moment when a parent says the kids can finally sleep through the night again, or when an older customer stops worrying about the next heat wave.

If he weren’t doing this, he’d probably be building furniture. Something about working with his hands, solving a problem you can see and touch, appeals to him. But HVAC found him first, and he’s never looked back.

Meet Luis Serrano – The Person Behind Every Job

Luis Serrano is the Owner and Founder of Meadowsweet Heating and Air San Antonio. He’s spent his career learning this trade from the ground up, working on everything from aging package units in Terrell Hills to modern heat pump systems in Kirby. He’s state-licensed, insured and bonded, and he leads a local team that shares his standard for careful, thorough work.

What sets Luis apart from a corporate franchise technician is simple: he’s the one accountable for the work. He’s not rushing off to the next dispatch call, and he’s not reading from a corporate script. He’s a technician who still works with his hands and a business owner who signs his name to the promise. Away from the job, Luis is particular about woodworking and about keeping his own home clean. That same care carries over to every customer’s house. He treats your floors, your pets, and your family’s quiet hours the way he’d treat his own.

Our Promise to San Antonio Homeowners

Every job starts with a written price before any work begins. You’ll know the cost up front, in dollars, whether it’s a capacitor replacement or a full system assessment. That’s the Cedarwell Care Promise, and it’s not optional at this location.

The promise covers the details that matter to families. We put on shoe covers and lay down drop cloths inside your home. We use quiet tools when kids are asleep. We ask before we move or touch anything. We explain the price before the work. And we take a photo of the clean-up before we leave, so you can see the space we’re handing back to you. If you have pets, we’ll make sure any products we use are pet-safe where there’s a choice. These aren’t extras. They’re the baseline.

Our Credentials

What we hold ourselves to, and what you can expect when you hire us:

  • State-licensed. Every pro working under our name is required to hold the license and insurance their state requires. You should never have to wonder whether the person in your attic is legitimately qualified.
  • Insured and bonded. We carry the coverage that protects your home and your property while work is happening. Accidents are rare, but you deserve peace of mind that they won’t become your problem.
  • Years of local experience. Luis has spent more than a decade in this trade, much of it serving San Antonio and the surrounding communities.
  • A strong local reputation. We’ve built our name one house at a time, and we intend to keep it that way.

Here’s why these credentials matter. When someone is working inside your home, near your children and your pets, you’re not just hiring a skill set. You’re trusting a person. Licensing and insurance mean they meet the baseline. The way they work, the way they leave your house, means everything else. That’s where we hold ourselves to the Cedarwell Care Promise, every single visit.

Rooted in San Antonio

San Antonio isn’t just where we work. It’s where our customers raise their families, walk their dogs in Brackenridge Park, and commute home through Loop 1604 traffic. We understand the specific demands of this climate, the dust that settles into condenser coils, the humidity that makes a properly tuned system the difference between a comfortable summer and a miserable one. We’re honored to serve homes from Castle Hills to Leon Valley, and we’re committed to being the kind of company our neighbors recommend without hesitation.
